The at sign (@), also called the ampersat, apetail, arroba, atmark, acosta, at symbol, commercial at, curlat or monkey tail (scoure: Wikipedia).

I now have the strong urge to tell people my e-mail is “victor underscore chang monkey tail brown dot edu,” or “victor period yc period chang monkey tail gmail dot com.” As much as I’ll probably look like an idiot, the look of confusion on the other person’s face should be worth it!
